Investment of mental or emotional energy in a person, object, or idea.
Example: The cathexis of a mother for her daughter can be the source of a girl's confidence and stability later in life.

A lot of positive meaning.
yea, I've known this word for a while- Definitely has a positive meaning, and shows that people do have the ability to instil motivation into others.
